Green Code Engineering inspects, designs and details structure for homeowners, architects, builders and developers. Most of our work is in London’s existing houses and flats, where every job starts with understanding a building someone else built a hundred years ago.
What we are here to do
People usually come to us at one of two moments: something has gone wrong with a building, or they are about to change one. A crack has appeared, a buyer’s survey has raised a question, or there is a wall to take out, a loft to convert or a basement to dig.
Our job is to find out what the structure is doing, explain it in plain English and give you drawings and calculations that Building Control will approve and a builder can price and build from. We then stay involved through construction when you need us.
How we work
A fixed fee in writing first
We confirm the scope and one fixed fee before any work starts, so you know the cost of the engineering from day one.
Start from the real building
We inspect, measure and where needed open up the structure, using Matterport, laser scanning and drones, rather than design from assumptions.
Drawings people can build from
Calculations and drawings are issued ready for Building Control, party wall surveyors and your builder, and we answer their questions.
On site when it matters
Inspections during construction, revisions when the builder finds something unexpected, and sign-off at the end.

Where we work
Most of our projects are in Greater London, across 299 postcode districts, with work in 50 towns beyond, from the home counties to Milton Keynes and the North West.
We never publish client names or addresses. Every project on this site is shown by area only.
